Allen promoted to Commander at GSP Post 6 in Gainesville

The Georgia State Patrol has promoted Auston Allen to the rank of Sergeant First Class (SFC), and he has assumed the duties of Commander of GSP Post 6 in Gainesville. 

SFC Allen, a graduate of Habersham Central High School, began his career with the Georgia Department of Public Safety in 2002 as a dispatcher at Post 37 in Cumming. He graduated from the 81st Georgia State Patrol Trooper School, where he received the Advanced EVOC Driving award and the Firearms Proficiency award. Upon graduation, he was assigned to GSP Gainesville. Over the years, he has held several supervisory roles, including Assistant Post Commander at the posts in Gwinnett County and Gainesville. SFC Allen is also a Peer Support Team member.

GSP Gainesville is responsible for enforcement of traffic laws, crash investigations and assisting local law enforcement in Hall, White and Banks counties. GSP Gainesville has 18 sworn personnel.

Allen began his role as Commander of Post 6 on March 16, 2019.
