A teacher at Archer High School in Lawrenceville resigned Tuesday after someone told the school the educator was having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Principal Ken Johnson sent a letter home to parents after receiving a tip Monday about the allegations against the teacher and says the student involved is part of the senior class.

Johnson said he plans to forward information about the allegations to the Professional Standards Commission.

Gwinnett County Police are not releasing the identity of the educator due to confidentiality laws.
