LAWRENCEVILLE —

Chestatee won its fourth straight game rallying for a 5-3 victory over Franklin County Saturday at Cool Ray Field.

The War Eagles (7-1) trailed 3-0 after the first two innings as the Lions (5-6) jumped on starter Nolan Turner for three runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings. Franklin County got on the board in the first inning with a two-run single from Seth Holcomb.

But the Chestatee offense got going in the third. Turner doubled in Atticus Tomcho and Caleb Carter knocked in Benson Miller with a ground out. Robbie James tied the game with a sacrifice fly scoring Turner. The War Eagles took the lead for good in the fourth when Tomcho singled and Tuner knocked him in with his second double of the game. Peyton Phillips scored on a wild pitch in the seventh.

Meanwhile, Turner settled down after the second retiring 7 of the final 10 batters he faced. Clay Tyas took in the bottom of the fifth setting down 7 of the 9 batters he faced with four strikeouts to get the save.

Chestatee next will play host to North Oconee on Tuesday at Talon Field.

Franklin County will travel to Jackson County to open Region 8-3A play on Tuesday
