Suwanee City Council plans to trade-in some guns.

During their recent council meeting, the AJC reports the board voted to list 16 rifles and 5 shotguns issued to the police department as surplus.

Police officials said the weapons are over 15 years old and need to be replaced.

City leaders approved trading the Bushmaster A-2 rifles and Remington 870 shotguns in for newer models.
