Soccer: GHS boys, JHS boys, Chestatee girls take wins

GAINESVILLE — The Gainesville boys soccer team improved to 4-0 on the season with a win 4-1 over Class 7A Meadowcreek Tuesday night at City Park Stadium.

Pedro Santos had a hat trick and Cesar Ramirez had one goal for the Red Elephants. 

Lara Aram, Armando Hernandez, and Bryan Lopez controlled the midfield for Gainesville, who held the Mustangs to their lowest output of the season. Meadowcreek's lone goal came on a penalty kick.

Gainesville will travel to Chestatee (2-1-1) on Wednesday.

In a battle between the two programs who made the state championship round in 2018, the Knights took a slim victory at home on Tuesday.

Junior Arellano netted the match's only goal for the Knights (5-0) and Cooper Bowen got the shutout in goal with two saves.

Johnson will travel to Mountain View on Friday while Chestatee (2-1-1) will play host to Gainesville on Wednesday.

Kyleigh Drew recorded a hat trick to lead the Lady War Eagles (2-2-1) to win over the Lady Knights (2-2).

Venessa Comoncho added a goal and Elizabeth Leon, Kristy Guardiola, and Perla Hernadez each had one assist for Chestatee.

Seniors Dani Malone and Maria Rivera scored goals for Johnson.

The Lady War Eagles will play host to Gainesville on Wednesday.

The Lady Knights are off until traveling to Mountain View on March 1.
