As north Georgians continue to recover from last week's constant rains, Dawson County Public Works is hoping to begin repairs this week to a road that was washed out by heavy rains Thursday morning.
Reece Road has remained closed since then, and people living on it have been redirected to Georgia 183 or Old Henry Grady Road. As of midday Friday, no one had been displaced because of the problem.
There were other reports of washed-out roads in northeast Georgia, where rainfall in places totaled six or more inches.
