CORNELIA — A child was injured by a falling tree at a home outside Cornelia around 6:30 Saturday night.
According to Habersham County Emergency Services Director Chad Black, the child “was in a hammock swinging and the tree apparently gave and fell onto the child.”
Black said he was unsure of the age of the child, who was flown by AirLife Georgia to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
The incident happened on Ridgeway Circle off Chase Road.
