The Lakeview Lions have been near the top of Region 8-A all season long. They've fought through some mid-season adversity and walked out on the other side in good shape.

Most recently, Lakeview avenged a regular season loss to Riverside Military to capture the Region 8-A championship and earn a first-round bye in the Class A-Private playoffs.

Helping lead the way has been senior guard Adam Cottrell. Cottrell averaged 23.5 ppg in last week's region tournament, scoring 16 points in the semifinals and a game-high 31 points in the title game against Riverside. He shoots 43-percent behind the 3-point arc and has averaged just over 18 ppg all season.

To top it off, Cottrell’s 16-point performance in the semifinals pushed him over the 1,000-point mark last week. His play has earned him this week's Conditioned Air Systems Athlete of the Week.

AccessWDUN's Bo Wilson, Brandon Warner and Seth Chapman sat down with Adam and his dad and coach, Todd Cottrell to discuss his accomplishments on the court, the team's play and what's next for the Lakeview Lions.
