Soccer: East Hall girls snap long losing streak; Vikings' boys tie with Meadowcreek

RABBITTOWN — The East Hall girls soccer team snapped a 28-match winless streak Thursday night knocking off Meadowcreek 3-1 in its season-opener at East Hall Stadium.

The Lady Vikings (1-0) had not won a match since beating Darlington 5-4 back on Feb, 24, 2017.

East Hall got goals from Yenifer Gomez, Rosa Montes and Makelvia Holder with Gomez also dishing out 2 assists and Montes one. Kaia Rice had 3 saves and Jocelyn Castro had 2 saves splitting time in goal.

Meanwhile, the East Hall boys improved to 1-0-1 after scratching out a 2-2 tie with Meadowcreek. Sergio Garcia and Averen Samuels each tallied a goal with assists coming from Freddy Rebollar and Daniel Rodriguez.

Daniel Carrillo had 4 saves in goal on the night.

Both East Hall teams next will play host to West Hall on Tuesday.
