OAKWOOD — The Johnson girls tennis team opened its season with a 5-0 sweep of Cherokee Bluff on Thursday.
The Knights were paced by a pair of dominating doubles wins as both the No.1 team of Zoey Blankenship and Beth Odum and the No. 2 tam of Viviana Medina and Grace VanHooser took 6-0, 6-0 victories.
No. 1 singles Anna Cooper rallied for a 1-6, 7-5, 6-4) while No. 2 singles Morgan Langley won 6-3, 6-2 and No. 3 Haley Grimes took a 6-4, 6-0 win.
Johnson next will travel to Dawson County on Tuesday.
