GAINESVILLE — The Gainesville boys tennis team opened its season with a solid 5-0 win over West Hall Thursday at Longwood Park.
The doubles team of Michael Head and Caleb Anderson and Joeph Diaz and Matthew Carter each took 6-0, 6-1 wins.
In singles, at No. 1 Dylan Pineda beat Nathan Greene 6-0, 6-2, Phillip Mady beat Jackson Bartlett 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2, and Ben Burns fought off Vu Nguen 7-6, (7-5), 6-4 at No. 3 to finish the sweep.
