SATURDAY EDITION: Around Northeast Georgia

*Thursday's Hall County Board of Commissioners meeting has been canceled but the board plans to meet Wednesday for a called voting meeting.  6:00 p.m. at the county government center.  The commission's regular work session will be held as planned Monday at 3:00 p.m. at the government center.

*Sugar Hill City Manager Paul Radford received the Certificate of Achievement from the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute during this year's Georgia Municipal Association’s Annual Mayors’ Day Conference.

*Mike Wolcott has been named Team Member of the Year by the Barrow County Community Emergency Response Team.  Wolcott accumulated 152 volunteer hours with CERT in 2018. 

*Flowery Branch City Clerk Melissa McCain has been elected to serve as the Treasurer of the Georgia Municipal Clerks Association for 2019.  

*Gainesville ballet will host "A Frozen Ballet" mini-camp for children ages 3-10 Feb. 23, 10:30-1:00 at Brenau University.  Onsite registration begins at 10:00 but pre-registration is encouraged.  No previous dance experience required.  Call 770-532-4241 for more information or to pre-register. This event is a fundraiser for the Gainesville Ballet Company.
