UPDATE: Lakeview girls complete undefeated 8-A season; Buford, NHall, Dawson, Branch, Rabun, LCA win

DACULA — The Lakeview Academy girls closed out their regular season in impressive style with a 67-40 win over Hebron Christian Friday night.

The win for the Lady Lions (21-4, 9-0 Region 8-A) completed an undefeated season in region play and was their 12th straight to end the season.

Eliza Snyder poured in 30 points and added 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists to lead Lakeview. Joelle Snyder added 11 points, Jackie Allen had 9 points and 5 assists, and Sadie Thrailkil finished with 8 points and 7 rebounds for the Lady Lions.

Lakeview next will play in the upcoming Region 8-A tournament on Wednesday in Commerce. The received a first-round bye in the tournament.

 

BUFORD 72
CLARKE CENTRAL 29

The Lady Wolves stingy defense smothered Clarke Central in the Region 8-5A win over Clarke Central Friday night at Buford City Arena

Buford finished as the top seed in Region 8-5A and will have a first-round bye and automatically advance to the Class 5A state playoffs later on this month.

The Lady Wolves had 10 of their 15 players score with three in double digits. Blair Wallis scored a team-high 17 points, 12 from the 3-point line.

Tate Walters hit 9 of her 15 points from 3-point land and Preston Reid chipped in 14 points.

The Lady Wolves outscored Clarke Central 44-14 in the first half and held them scoreless in the third quarter, extending their lead 64-14 by the end of the quarter.

MiKaylyn Glover led Clarke Central with 20 points.

Buford (22-2, 10-0) will play in the region tournament next week at Walnut Grove.


DAWSON COUNTY 72
EAST HALL 63

East Hall’s comeback came up short Friday night in a loss to Dawson County in Dawsonville.

Trailing 63-47 after three quarters, the Lady Vikings finished the game on a 16-9 spurt. 

Kaylee Sticker scored a game-high 34 points to lead the Lady Tigers. Sophia D’Oliveira had 11 points and Maddie Anglin scored 8.

Audrey Griffin scored 13 and Maggie Griffin had 12 for the Lady Vikings.

Dawson County (18-7, 9-3) will play Fannin County in the first round of Region 7-3A tournament Tuesday night at home. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

East Hall (9-16, 3-9) will play North Hall at 6 p.m. Tuesday.


FLOWERY BRANCH 75
WHITE COUNTY 44

Caroline Wysocki scored 26 points and Ashlee Locke had 14 to lead the Lady Falcons past White County Friday night.

Ashley Woodroffe chipped in 10. 

The Lady Falcons outpaced White 48-23 in the first half and 27-21 in the second.

Both Flowery Branch and White County will play in the Region 7-4A tournament at Chestatee next week.


NORTH HALL 47
CHEROKEE BLUFF 32

Grace Hollifield and Ansleigh Ferguson combined for 20 points to lead North Hall past Cherokee Bluff Friday night on the road.

Hollifield and Ferguson scored 10 each.

Madi Phillips led the Lady Bears with 11 points. 

The Lady Bears jumped out to an 11-8 lead in the first quarter but, by the end of the second quarter, North Hall led 20-16.

The Lady Trojans outpaced Cherokee Bluff 12-8 in the third and 13-8 in the fourth. 

Cherokee Bluff will play Lumpkin County in the first round of the Region 7-3A tournament at 4:30 p.m. North Hall will play East Hall 6 p.m.

The first round will be played at Dawson County.

 

RABUN COUNTY 66
PUTNAM COUNTY 61

The Lady Wildcats haven’t lost a game since Dec. 1, 2018. 

They squeaked by Putnam County Friday night on the road and have won 20-straight games since December. 
 
Brooke Henricks lead the Lady Wildcats with 20 points. Laken Stiles had 13 and Georgia Stockton hit for 11.

Jashanti Simmons scored a game-high 34 points to lead Putnam County. 

 

BLESSED TRINITY 45
WEST HALL 41

Kylie Stasierowski scored a game-high 12 points in a loss to Blessed Trinity Friday night at home.

India Strickland added 10 points and Kinsey Wilson scored 10 and pulled 8 rebounds. 

 

LANIER CHRISTIAN 62
CHEROKEE CHRISTIAN 25

Madison Hughes scored 15 points and Faith Wasden had 13 in the win over Cherokee Christian Friday night at home.

LCA outscored CCA 32-18 in the first half and 30-7 in the second. 

Lanier Christian Academy will play The Kings’ Academy at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the first round of the GICAA  Division II-AA Region 1 Tournament at Lanier Christian Academy.
