Law enforcement personnel in Habersham County are investigating reports that several moving vehicles were fired upon and struck as they traveled through the county Monday night.

The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports that three vehicles had windows shot out while in motion between 5:30 and 7 p.m.

Sheriff's Lt. Matt Wurtz said investigators have little information to release at this time.

"One incident occurred near Burger King in Cornelia, and the other two occurred around Mt. Airy," the sheriff's office Facebook page states.

Cornelia Police Department also is investigating an incident of the same type in the area of Wayside Street and Level Grove Road.

No injuries have been reported.

Sheriff’s office officials initially said the bullets were suspected to be of small caliber, but later determined the vehicles were shot with a pellet or BB gun.

"If anyone has any information, please contact the sheriff's office at (706) 839-0500 or Habersham county 9-1-1 at (706) 778-3911,” the post states. “You can also send an anonymous message on our website at www.habershamsheriff.com/contact."
