Boys basketball: Norman scores 20 to lead Bluff; East Jackson beats West Hall; Branch falls

FLOWERY BRANCH — Bosko Norman scored a game-high 20 points to lift Cherokee Bluff past North Oconee, 75-59, on Saturday at home.

Norman scored 14 of his 20 points in the first quarter to push the Bears to a 24-13 lead after the first quarter.

Jason Evrett, scored 10 of his 13 points in the second quarter to help Bluff push the lead to 39-22 at the break. In the third quarter, the Bears extended their lead to 20 points, 59-39.

Davon Ruffin added 16 points and Cade Simmons had 13 


EAST JACKSON 66,
WEST HALL 58

 
East Jackson converted 24-of-35 foul shots and outscored West Hall by 10 points from the line to win the game at home. 

Quincy Holcomb led West Hall with 25 points and Sawyer Passmore added 16 points. 


LAKEVIEW 66,
HEARD COUNTY 31

Lakeview exploded to a 29-10 lead at the half en route to a big win over Heard County at home on Saturday in the Lakeview Invitational.

Jones Harris led the Lions with 13 points. Roman Yaskulka added 12. Conley Millwood scored 9 while Declan Weidner had 8 and 3 steals. Freshman Isaac Marcero scored 8 points and added 5 assists.  

Lions will play Johnson on Friday at 2 p.m. in the first round of the Lanierland Tournament at East Hall. 


VIDALIA 62,
FLOWERY BRANCH 51

Trevor Gurske scored 16 points and Trey Shaw added 10 in the Falcons' loss to Vidalia at home on Saturday. 

The Falcons started strong, outscoring Vidalia 16-13 in the opening quarter. But the Branch offense stalled in the second and third quarters, falling behind 41-31.
