A 20-year-old Lawrenceville man was shot and killed during an altercation at a house party in unincorporated Suwanee Monday night, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Cpl. Collin Flynn said when gunshots were fired, those attending the party scattered. Some of the attendees called police, but they couldn't remember where the house was located.

"Investigators started looking into the case immediately, but the people who were coming forward with information were not able to identify the exact house," Flynn said. "They weren't able to find their way back or give us the exact address until about 8 o'clock this morning."

At that point, officers went into the house on Taylor Road near Doe Court and found the body of Christopher Morand.

"All the information that we're getting is that the victim was shot; however, we're still waiting on the medical examiner and police to complete their investigation at the scene to verify that information," Flynn said. "Everything we've gotten from witnesses indicated that he was shot."

Flynn said detectives don't know yet how many people were at the party.

No suspects have been named at this point in the investigation.
