The U.S. Forest Service will host meetings this week in Dahlonega, Clayton, and Chatsworth concerning its Foothills Landscape Project.
According to a USFS news release, this "will be a time to learn more about the project, connect with Forest Service experts, and understand how to be involved as the project moves forward through environmental analysis."
The Foothills Landscape Project is designed to maintain and improve watershed and ecological conditions on 157,625 acres that stretch across the Chattahoochee National Forest. The project began in 2016 with collaboration among partners and stakeholders whose investments "have shaped this shared vision to address conservation challenges."
The Foothills Landscape includes portions of Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Habersham, Lumpkin, Murray, Rabun, and White counties.
The meetings will each begin at 6:00 p.m. as follows:
*Tuesday, December 3
Chatsworth Chamber of Commerce 126 N 3rd Avenue Chatsworth
*Wednesday, December 4
Kingwood Country Club and Resort The Rabun Room 401 Country Club Drive Clayton
*Thursday, December 5
