The Gainesville-based Georgia Mountain Food Bank has launched a new "feed the hungry" initiative.
"Feed Hope for the Holidays" will run through Christmas Day.
It works like this, according to a posting on the food banks' website: Designate a box in your home to collect food items during December. Then, each day leading up to December 25, place the item for that day in the box. At the end of the month, you’ll have a box loaded with healthy food that you can bring to GMFB to help us restock our shelves for the winter months.
