SAVANNAH — Jenkins has a stingy defense and a big-play offense.
Dawson County found that out the hard way in a 42-9 loss to the Warriors Friday night in the quarterfinals at Savannah Memorial Stadium.
Jenkins held Dawson to just 54 yards rushing, 196 yards passing while posting 408 total yards of offense and cashing Dawson turnovers for 24 points.
Six of those 24 points came on the Tigers' first drive of the game when Jenkins' Dotson picked up a fumble and scampered 57 yards for the score. The Warriors struck again on their next series on a 67-yard strike from Patrick Blake to Kirhon Jones, pushing the lead 12-0.
The Warriors added two more scores in the second quarter -- a 41-yard interception return and a Blake to Jones 19-yard pass.
Blake was 14-of-24 for 223 yards and four touchdowns. Damozzio Harris led the Warriors ground game with 15 carries for 154 yards and two scores.
Dawson's lone score came in the second quarter off a 22-yard pass from Zach Holtzclaw to Brody Howell. Holtzclaw ended the night 14-of-24 for 196 yards and a touchdown.
In the second half, the Warriors added three more scores, a Harris 2-yard run and an 88-yard run, and Black found Cooper on an 18-yard pass.
