Gainesville among country's ten best mid-sized cities for doctors

Gainesville is ranked as the #5 midsize city in the country for doctors, according to a new 317-city study by AdvisorSmith. 

The findings also show that

*Gainesville ranked #8 overall in our study of 317 cities, beating out Augusta (#52), Columbus (#60) and Athens (#76).

*Gainesville hosts 119% more jobs for doctors on a per-capita basis compared with the U.S. average.

*The average annual salary for doctors in Gainesville is $266,720, which is 30% higher than the national average.

Here is a breakdown of the best midsize cities for doctors:

1. Janesville, WI

2. Terre Haute, IN

3. Albany, GA

4. Killeen, TX

5. Gainesville, GA

6. Bangor, ME

7. Flint, MI

8. Charleston, WV

9. Pensacola, FL

10. Asheville, NC
