Two proposals scheduled to go before the Braselton Planning commission later this month include plans for more than 600 housing units.
Fountainhead Residential Development, LLC, wants to place 144 multi-family units, 24 townhouses, and 114 single-family lots on 57 acres on Georgia 124 in Barrow County. The property was once used for a vineyard but has been vacant since the early 2000s when the vineyard was closed because of "major frost and freeze damage, according to the application.
Meritage Homes of Georgia has plans for a 326-lot single-family subdivision on 141 acres on Duncan Creek Road. That property is in Gwinnett County. The developer proposes to begin construction next April and develop the property in four phases through July 2023.
The planning commission will consider both requests during a public hearing on Nov. 18 at 7:00. Once the planning board has acted, the proposals will go before the Braselton Mayor and City Council on Dec. 5.
