Jefferson hammers Jackson County, 55-0

JEFFERSON -- The game was over at halftime.

Jefferson (8-1, 6-0 Region 8-3A) scored 34 points in the first half to blow out a rival, Jackson County, 55-0, Friday night at Memorial Stadium.

The newly crowned Region 8-3A champs held Jackson County (2-7, 0-5 Region 8-3A) to just 47 total yards of offense, including four interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns by Kadin Bailey and Rem Maxwell. 

Jefferson's offense was tough to tame, gaining 405 yards, 318 on the ground and 87 through the air. 

Colby Clark (11-69 yards) rushed for a score and passed for two touchdowns (15-yard pass to Jorda Perry and 36-yard pass to Kolton Jones) in the first half and Kade McNally (6-64 yards) rushed for two touchdowns, one in the first half and one in the third quarter. 

Carter Stephenson scored the Dragons final touchdown on an 18-yard run with 11:30 to go.

Jackson County will end its season at East Jackson on Friday. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Jefferson is off and will host a Class 3A playoff game on Nov. 15.
