COLUMBUS — After two rain delays in Columbus, the 2019 Fast-Pitch Softball State Championships on Saturday were postponed until Monday, according to the Georgia High School Association.
The seven remaining state championships will be played at the host site of the undefeated tourney team in each classification.
Banks County was leading Bremen 2-1 in the fourth inning in the Class 2A title game. The Lady Leopards came into the finals undefeated in the Elite 8 tournament so the final innings will be played in Homer. Banks County beat Bremen 6-0 in the tournament's opening game and just needs one win to capture its first-ever softball title.
Games will begin at the point of interruption. Time TBD.
The lone champion crowned on Saturday was Class 1A Private where Mount de Sales defeated Wesleyan 2-0, before the first rain delayed play.
