NAHUNTA — Jefferson scored a combined 20 runs to eliminate No. 1-seeded Brantley County and advance to the quarterfinals of the Class 3A playoffs Wednesday.
The Dragons opened with a 13-0 Game 1 win, followed by a 7-2 Game 2 win to complete the sweep.
Camoreena Hart and Ravyn Saxon combined for a stingy day in the pitcher's circle for the Dragons.
Hart pitch three scoreless innings while allowing one hit in Game 1 and Saxon allowed two runs on three hits while striking out six through seven innings in Game 2.
In Game 1, Caroline Brownlee, Abby Beatty and Emily Matthews drove in one run hits, while Amber Tulles and Chloe Hart knocked in three runs each and Paige Kelly had 2 RBIs.
Abbey Flowers highlighted Game 2 with a two-run home run in the sixth inning that pushed the Dragons ahead, 6-2.
