Playoff Softball: Hollifield turns in perfect game as Buford advances to quarterfinals

BUFORD — Buford's Ansleight Hollifield pitched a perfect game to lead the Wolves softball team past Ola, 5-0, in Game 1 of the best-of-three series and set the tone for the day at the Buford Softball Complex. 

The Wolves built on the Game 1 momentum and shut out Ola, 11-0, in Game 2 to advance to the Class 5A quarterfinals for the 15th consecutive season, 16th overall. 

Hollifield struck out 16 batters in the complete-game performance. 

 

 

Senior Ansleigh Hollifield (10-2) picked up with the win in the circle, allowing no hits, no runs, two strikeouts and a walk in an inning of work.
