Habersham EMC has hired an Acting CEO following last month's departure of Bradley Hicks.
The cooperative announced Tuesday that Whit Hollowell's first day on the job was Monday, Oct. 7.
Hollowell most recently served as the CEO of Coastal Electric in Midway just outside Savannah; he has been in that position for the last 19 years. Prior to that, Hollowell was Vice President-Member Services at Tideland EMC in North Carolina.
Hollowell will lead HEMC's daily operations under a mutual aid agreement with Coastal EMC while the HEMC Board of Directors conducts a search for a long-term CEO.
Hicks left the cooperative effective Sept. 11, 2019.
A press release from HEMC said there is no set timeline for filling the full-time position.
