JEFFERSON — Jackson County led early but couldn't hold on as they fell to Morgan County in a tight Region 8-3A battle, 20-17, at home.

Jackson County (2-4, 0-2) opened the game with an Aidan Grizzwold field goal. The 3-0 lead stood until the second quarter.

Morgan scored two touchdowns through the air to go up 13-3 at the half.

Tyler Wester scored twice in the third quarter to push the Panthers back in front 17-13.

But a late third quarter from Morgan County would be the game-winner.

Jackson County racked up 128 yards through the air and 185 yards on the ground.
