With the start of the NASCAR race season at Daytona just a few weeks away, the focus for many Georgia racing fans is already on NASCAR’s annual trip to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the second race weekend of the season.
With that race coming up on February 24, Atlanta area fans will get a chance to get an early jump on the season this weekend.
QuikTrip will be hosting a Pit Party for fans on Saturday, January 26, at a QT store in Norcross to kick off the race season and the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
The highlight of the Pit Party will be appearances by Darrell Wallace, Jr., driver of the No. 43 Chevrolet for Richard Petty Motorsports driver and Daniel Suãrez, driver of the No. 41 Ford for Stewart-Haas Racing driver.
“We’re eager to host this community Pit Party event to generate some excitement among all of the great NASCAR fans in the city, while also showing the fans how they can honor and support our military members in conjunction with our partner, Folds of Honor,” said Mendi Parker, QT’s Manager of Store Marketing / PR & Events. “Our goal is to make the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 the most patriotic NASCAR race in the country, and this Pit Party will be a preview for all of the fun and patriotic activities we have planned this year.”
The Pit Party will feature a variety of family friendly activities, including a prize wheel, a DJ, free food sampling and more. Grand prizes of rides with Coca-Cola Racing Family drivers at AMS during the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 race weekend will also be given away.
The party will be held at the QT store at 5795 Jimmy Carter Boulevard in Norcross, at the intersection of Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Brookhollow Parkway. The event will be held from 10am to 3pm, and is free and open to the community.
Atlanta Motor Speedway's NASCAR race weekend kicks off with a double header with the Xfinity Series and the Gander Outdoor Truck Series on Saturday, February 23, and culminates with the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series on Sunday, February 24.
