Gainesville's annual march honoring Martin Luther King, Jr., will take place this afternoon between 1:00-3:00 and will impact traffic on several streets.

The Gainesville Police Department advises motorists that it will begin at St. Johns Baptist Church and proceed down E.E. Butler Parkway to Washington Street. Marchers will then go left onto Washington Street to Main Street, and continue over to College Avenue to Fair Street.

Officers will conduct a rolling roadblock as the event proceeds down the road to protect the participants, according to Sgt. Kevin Holbrook.
