A four-hour SWAT standoff in Hoschton ended with the arrests of three people Thursday afternoon.

Capt. Ryan Sears with the Barrow County Sheriff's Office said the SWAT team was called to 1115 Victron Drive around 10 a.m. to investigate a report of a barricaded suspect. Sears said the Hall County Sheriff's Office was on the scene attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Jacob Shelton, 24, of Gainesville for a probation and parole violation.

When the Hall County deputies arrived at the residence, they came into contact with Johnny Madwell, 24, of Flowery Branch. Madwell was taken into custody, but Shelton and Anna Damewood, 19, of Gainesville refused to come out of the residence.

At that point, the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team was activated and took over the scene.

Sears said after about four hours of negotiation, Shelton and Damewood were arrested without incident.

Shelton was charged with probation and parole violation and obstruction of law enforcement. Madwell was charged with probation violation and possession of methamphetamine. Damewood was charged with probation violation and obstruction of law enforcement.

Sears said the three also are suspected of other crimes in Hall County.
