The Sheriff of Forsyth County is praising the practice of "See Something, Say Something" following the arrest of a terrorism suspect.
In a Facebook post (as seen below), Sheriff Ron Freeman praised the effectiveness of the initiative:
This is an excellent example of "see something, say something" working exactly as it should to keep our community and nation safe. The community reporting suspicious activity to local law enforcement, capitalizing on our relationships with our external local and federal law enforcement partners resulting in this investigation and arrest.
I want to reassure our citizens that no locations in Forsyth County were targeted or at risk.
I want to personally send my thanks and admiration to FBI Atlanta and their agents who conducted this investigation. I spent this day with FBI Atlanta and the US Attorney's Office. Their professionalism and dedication were superlative.
Hasher Jallal Taheb, 21, Cumming was arrested Wednesday and accused of plotting to attack government buildings, including the White House, with explosive devices and an anti-tank rocket.
The FBI was put on Taheb's trail after a they were tipped off to his alleged plot back in March.
