UPDATE: Girls basketball: Branch, Rabun stay perfect region play; Dawson, Gainesville, Lakeview, Banks, LCA, pick up wins; West Hall falls to BT

FLOWERY BRANCH – The Lady Falcons continued their perfect march through Region 7-4A with a 68-44 win over White County Tuesday night. 

Ashley Scott scored a game-high 20 points, and Caroline Wysocki had 19 points for the Lady Falcons.

Ashlee Locke finished the night with a double-double, scoring 18 points and pulling 13 rebounds.

Dasha Cannon was the top scorer for the Lady Warriors with 15 points and 9 assists. 

The Lady Falcons led 33-20 at the half before pulling away in the fourth quarter. 

Ashley Woodroffe scored 10 points in the win. 

Flowery Branch (14-3, 5-0 Region 7-4A) will host West Hall Friday night. Game time is 7 p.m.

White County (8-8, 3-3 Region 7-4A) plays Blessed Trinity at home Friday. Tip is 6 p.m.

SOCIAL CIRCLE 26

Brooke Henricks scored 16 points in the Region 8-2A win over Social Circle Tuesday night on the road.

It was the 12th straight win for the Lady Wildcats (14-1, 6-0 Region 8-2A), all but two by double digits.

Destiny Deetz had 13 points and Natalie Nix chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds.

Rabun will host Putnam County Friday. Game time is 6 p.m.

 

GAINESVILLE 63
APALACHEE 49

Tia Shelton and Tija Blackwell combined for 45 points to get the Region 8-6A win over Apalachee at home.

Shelton scored 23 and Blackwell had 22. Lauren had 11 points. 

Trailing at halftime 20-19, the Lady Red Elephants had taken the lead by the end of the third quarter 39-37.
Gainesville outpaced the Lady Wildcats 24-12 in the fourth to seal the win.

Gainesville (10-5, 2-1 Region 8-6A) will travel to Winder-Barrow Friday. Game time is 7 p.m. Live coverage on 94.5 FM The Lake. 


DAWSON COUNTY 62
EAST HALL 53

The Lady Tigers had three players in double digits to edge East Hall Tuesday night in a Region 7-3A battle on the road.

Kaylee Sticker led the way with 17 points, Mariah Benson scored 14 points and Madison Anglin had 10. 

Ivey Shadburn and Maggie Griffin scored 14 points each to lead the Lady Vikings. Jenny Lopez had 9 points.

After a back and forth first half, the Lady Tigers took a 33-27 lead to the locker room at the half. 

In the second half, East Hall’s Maggie Griffin closed the gap to four points late in the third quarter.

In the fourth, Bella Henson nailed a 3-pointer to push the Lady Tigers lead up to 9 points, 47-38 and, at one point, led by 11 points. 

Marlie Townley scored 8, Sophia D'Oliveira scored 4, Bella Henson had 3, and Ella Siuta, Anna Lowe, and Shyla Sheffield scored 2 points each.

 

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 48
TALLULAH FALLS 27

Eliza Snyder scored 18 points to lead Lakeview past Tallulah Falls Tuesday night on the road.

Jackie Allen tossed in 14 points and 7 assists, Savannah Kinsey had 10 and Sadie Thrailkill chipped in 8 points and 8 boards. 

Lakeview (13-2, 2-0 Region 8-A) will host Commerce Friday. Game time is 7 p.m.


BANKS COUNTY 53
UNION COUNTY 35

The Lady Leopards strolled to a Region 8-2A win Tuesday night at Union County.

Amber Williams led the way with 12 points. Jaycie Bowen had 11, Heather Vaughan hit for 10 points, Kailynn Gilstrap had 7 and Layna Parson scored 6.

Banks County (14-3, 4-2 Region 8-2A) will travel to Social Circle Friday. Game time is 5:30 p.m.

Union (9-6, 3-3 Region 8-2A) will play at Oglethorpe County Friday. Tip is 6 p.m.

 

BLESSED TRINITY 47
WEST HALL 40

Kinsey Wilson scored 18 points and pulled 15 rebounds in a loss to Blessed Trinity Tuesday night on the road. 

Kylie Stasierowski added 8 points and 7 rebounds.

West Hall (4-13, 1-5 Region 7-4A) will travel to Flowery Branch Friday. Game time is 7 p.m

 

LANIER CHRISTIAN 39
KILLIAN HILLS 23

Lanier Christian Academy jumped out to a 23-5 lead and never looked back in a win over Killian Hills at home Tuesday night.

Madison Hughes led the Lightning with 8 points, Loganne Wilson had 7, and Hollie Beussee, Lexie Robertson, Ashley Avery, Faith Wasden, Reece Montgomery and Shelby Ham all had 4 points each.

LCA (8-7) will host Praise Academy Friday. Game time is 6 p.m.
