The Gainesville City School Board voted to keep previous board officers at their posts for 2019.
John Filson remains the Chair, Willie Mitchell remains the Vice Chair, and Sammy Smith remains the Treasurer, system spokeswoman Lynn Jones confirmed by email Tuesday.
At their meeting Monday night, the board also discussed the Fiscal Year 2020 budget timeline. Jones said the budget process began a few weeks earlier than last year, though the rest of the timeline remains the same and the board plans to adopt a millage rate at the FY 2020 budget before June 30.
The dates and times for FY 2020 budget and millage rate public meetings and hearing will be announced later this spring.
