TIGER — Gunner Stockton ran for 80 yards and three scores and and passed for another 161 yards and two scores to lead Rabun County to a 45-22 win over Monticello Friday night in Region 8-2A action.

The Wildcats (4-1, 2-0 Regin 8-2A) held the Purple Hurricanes (1-4, 0-2) to just 147 yards, only 15 yards rushing, with most of that coming late in the game against the reserves.

All five of Stockton's touchdowns came in the first half, after a 1-yard touchdown run by Brison Beck to open the game, as he connected with Braxton Hicks on a 22-yard touchdown pass on the Wildcats' second drive. Stockton then added touchdown runs of 2, 12, and 33 yards on consecutive drives and capped a 42-point first half with a 32-yard scoring pass to Sam Adams with just 44 seconds left in the first half.

The Wildcats showed off their big-play ability, especially in the second quarter, scoring 21 points despite having the ball for just 1:56. The Hurricanes dominated the time-of-possession 38:57 to 16:03 for the game but the Rabun County defense did not buckle under the strain.

Rabun County next will travel to Banks County (3-2, 2-0) which has won three straight.

Gunner Stockton goes airborne to score one of his three touchdowns to lead Rabun County to a 45-22 win over Monticello Friday night at home.
