HOMER — The Development Authority of Banks County is seeking proposals from qualified professional firms to develop an economic develop plan for the county.
Submitted plans should include the following facets:
- Recommendations for future placement of infrastructure;
- Plans for industrial, commercial, and retail marketing, including recommendations of placement for future industrial/commercial use; recommendations for deteriorating building located in Opportunity Zone; and addressing retail gaps, such as grocery, pharmacy, and full-service restaurant;
- Recommendations for formalizing incentive packages for retail, commercial, and industrial development;
- Plans for housing options, including identification of existing gaps in housing throughout the county, and recommendations for placement of new housing options;
- Identification of public and private partnership opportunities and investment;
- Identification of open space and plans for acquisition and development of that space; and
- Plans for community engagement for all projects.
The proposal also should include specific firm qualifications, including key staff resumes, relevant experience, and three references for related work, as well as other requirements as laid out in the RFQ by the Development Authority of Banks County.
The request for proposals was released Aug. 21 and the deadline for proposal submission is Oct. 5.
Important dates related to the RFQ include the hiring of a consultant on or about Oct. 17, with a project start date of Nov. 1. The project completion date is April 30, 2019.
