Drug agents locate $5k worth of marijuana during fly over of Jackson County

A 27 year old man has been arrested and charged with manufacturing marijuana, among other charges, after state drug agents located marijuana plants at a Jefferson residence.

Zachary Meyers faces possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug related objects in addition to manufacturing marijuana.

According to a release from the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, the Georgia Governor's Task Force/Drug Suppression located the plants during an annual marijuana eradication/suppression program while flying over Jackson County.

ARDEO and the Arcade Police Department executed a search warrant at the home at 362 Trotters Trace and located items "relating to the consumption, sale and distribution of illicit narcotics." The street value of the marijuana was valued at $5,000 according to the release.

Meyers was taken in to custody when he arrived at the residences.
