A motorcycle rider from Gwinnett County suffered serious injuries in a wreck late Thursday morning in South Hall County.

Bruce Erskine, 62, of Lawrenceville was operating a Harley Davidson Road King, headed south on Cash Road near Gold Creek Drive in the Flowery Branch area when he crossed the centerline and side-swiped an on-coming Kia Optima, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Erskine suffered serious injuries in the wreck.

The driver of the Optima, Andrew Seibert, 56, of Flowery Branch, told troopers that he went partially off the road to try to avoid being hit, but was ultimately unable to avoid the collision. Seibert was uninjured.

The accident happened around 11:15 a.m. and no charges will be filed.
