JEFFERSON — Jackson County stayed unbeaten and atop Region 8-3A with a dominating 8-1 win over Morgan County Wednesday in girls softball action.
It was a showdown for first place in the region with the Lady Panthers (10-3, 5-0 Region 8-3A) pushing their lead to 1 1/2-games over the Bulldogs (6-5, 4-2 Region 8-3A) with the victory. They lead second-place Jefferson (9-3, 4-1) by one game.
It was the second straight win for Jackson County, which travels to Hart County on Thursday in another region contest.
