BUFORD — Buford held Jonesboro to just 7 total yards and rolled to a 58-7 victory Friday night at Tom Riden Stadium.

However, the Wolves (2-0) trailed 7-0 just 8 seconds into the contest when Aaron McLaughlin's first pass of the game was picked off and returned for a touchdown by Ahlik Booker.

It was all Buford after that.

The Wolves responded with a 21-point first quarter getting a pair of touchdown passes from McLaughlin to Xyrie Wilson and Dom Maggio sandwiched around and a 3-yard touchdown run from Davin Bryant.

They blew it open with a 24-point second quarter for a 45-7 halftime lead. Buford got three touchdown runs from Derrian Brown of 3-, 1-, and 67-yards in the period.

Xalan Taylor added a 9-yard scoring run in the third quarter and Brandon Castro tallied the final score for the Wolves in the fourth quarter.

Brown finished with 156 yards rushing and McLaughlin was 14-for-24 for 211 yard passing as Buford piled up 557 yards of total offense for the game.

Buford will play host to Deerfield Beach (Fla.) next week.

Buford's Derrian Brown stiff-arms a Jonesboro defender during the Wolves' win on Friday in Buford.
