There was some movement among area teams in the first Georgia Sports Writers Association High School Football poll of thr regular season, released Tuesday.
Both Jefferson and Rabun County fell after hardfought opening week losses to strong programs -- the Wildcats falling 13-10 to Class 2A No. 6 Bremen and the Dragons falling to Oconee County 20-13 -- the Warriors are just outside the Class 4A top 10.
Rabun County is now No. 8 in Class 2A, Jefferson No. 9 in Class 3A.
Meanwhile, Flowery Branch currently sits No. 7 in Class 4A after a dominant opening night that saw the Falcons defeat East Hall 70-6
And Buford is still No. 2 in Class 5A after dominating then-Class 6A No. 2 Tucker 40-14 in last week's Corky Kell Classic.
