Gwinnett County commissioners have given approval to appropriate $29,389 to rehabilitate a railroad crossing in Suwanee.
The crossing is located on Suwanee Dam Road, near Suwanee Town Center Park, according to county documents.
Contracters will be removing the current crossing, doing maintenance work on the tracks and laying down a new crossing, according to a contract with Norfolk Southern, which operates the railroad.
The money is coming from a special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST). It received unanimous approval from county commissioners last week.
The county documents did not outline a timeline for when the work would start, or be completed.
