On Saturday night, Joe Cash said goodbye to Georgia’s Hartwell Speedway in the best possible way.
The Bogart, Georgia driver powered to the lead on the opening lap of the Hobby feature, and went on to score the victory.
The win came in what Cash announced was his last night of competition at the Hartwell, Georgia raceway, as Cash will be hanging up his helmet at the end of the season. He plans to wrap up his driving career at Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway in search of a win at the track he opened his career at.
After an opening lap spin negated the first start of the feature, Cash got the jump on the second start attempt, powering out in front of Chris Cape to take the lead.
From there, Cash would hold off several attempts to challenge by Cape en route to the victory. Cape had to settle for second, with Shane Yarbrough in third, Shun Thomas in fourth and Joe Yarbrough in fifth.
In other action, Clayton Turner drove to his second straight Limited/Crate Late Model feature victory, holding off Ted Crunkleton for the win. Scotty Chatham finished in third, with Jimmy Ivester in fourth and Will Harris in fifth.
Royce Bray was the winner in the Modified Street feature. Chris Cape came home in second, followed by Kyle Gordon in third, Preston Strickland in fourth and Daniel Doster in fifth.
Bradlee Jones held off Paul Moore to take the victory in the Stock V8 feature. Eric Dove, Matthew Wall and Dustin Moore rounded out the top five.
Justin Taylor scored the win in the Stock Four feature. Bubba Nation finished second, with Dustin Bales third, Shane Peppers fourth and Pete Whitley fifth.
Kalen Holmes took the win the Front Wheel Drive feature over Randy Shaw. Joel Powell, Sr. finished third, with Timothy Jones fourth and D.J. Carey fifth.
