Oakwood City Council to look at brunch bill referendum

Posted 5:30AM on Saturday 14th July 2018 ( 6 years ago )
Another municipality in the area plans to ask voters about the so-called brunch bill.

During the Mayor and Council items portion of Monday's Oakwood City Council meeting, Todd Wilson brought up the brunch bill, which would allow restaurants to sell alcohol earlier on Sundays.

"In order to get on the November ballot, as a referendum, we need to take action by August 8," said City Manager Stan Brown. "So the council has asked us to go ahead and prepare a resolution that would call for the referendum."

The council agreed to discuss the topic further at its August 7 work session, ahead of the deadline.
