Less than two months after being released from prison for drug charges in Hall County, a Floyd County man gets sentenced to another 20 years behind bars.
Floyd County deputies arrested 58 year old Barry Shedd of Lindale August 17, 2017 after he crashed his car in a single-car accident. Court reports say witnesses saw him enter the woodline and then return to his vehicle prompting officers to search the wooded area with drug dogs. It was then that they found 50 grams of methamphetamine, 110 pills, digital scales, hypodermic needles, and $3,253 in cash.
“This defendant had already served sentences for distributing dangerous drugs when he chose to return to criminal activity,” said U.S. Attorney Byung J. “BJay” Pak. “Shedd took his freedom for granted, and now he will serve 20 years in federal prison, where there is no parole.”
The court deemed Shedd a career offender due to his repeated drug convictions.
