A Gainesville woman is facing charges for allegedly setting her 2006 Dodge Durango on fire in the early morning hours June 16, then reporting it stolen later that afternoon.
Zekela Antionette Jenkins allegedly ditched the vehicle and set it on fire on Georgia Avenue — a fire that was spotted by a commuter at 5:44 a.m., according to Capt. Zach Brackett, Hall County Fire Services spokesman.
Jenkins then made a phone call reporting the Durango stolen at 1 p.m. that same day.
Investigators were able to trace the crime back to Jenkins, and arrested her June 28 on charges of second-degree arson and falsely reporting a stolen vehicle.
Brackett said the case remains under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal's Office, and more arrests and charges are possible.

Nobody was injured in the fire, and investigators are unsure of the motive at this point.
