Vinyl siding prohibited on new homes in Forsyth County

Posted 2:00PM on Sunday 8th July 2018 ( 6 years ago )

New subdivisions in Forsyth County are prohibited from using vinyl siding on those homes after commissioners vote in new rules for all residential zoned areas.

Planning Manager Nick Colonna presented the new rules during the public hearing portion of a recent meeting explaining, "...specifically this article will prohibit exterior vinyl materials of any kind within all residential zoning districts except for MHP, which is manufactured home parks."

The only other exception to the new rule includes structures built on land zoned for agricultural use.

The recent meeting was the second public hearing on the matter and it did not draw anyone to speak for or against the changes.

County leaders voted unanimously to adopt the changes.
