ATLANTA — Atlanta United returns to action on Saturday, June 30 when it hosts Orlando City SC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Atlanta enters the match atop the Supporters’ Shield Standings (10-3-4, 34 points) while Orlando sits in eighth in the Eastern Conference (6-9-1, 19 points). The match, presented by SunTrust, is scheduled to kick-off at 7 p.m. EST and will be nationally televised on ESPN.
Atlanta is coming off a 1-1 draw against Portland Timbers on June 24 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Portland scored first in the 32nd minute when Larrys Mabiala headed in a rebound off a set piece. Atlanta responded in the second half, as Julian Gressel scored his second goal of the season to even the game at 1-1.
Orlando City SC is coming off a 2-0 home loss to Montreal Impact on June 23, extending the Lions’ losing streak to seven straight MLS matches. A Lamine Sané own goal and an Ignacio Piatti finish led to a 2-0 win for visiting Montreal, and its second straight win over Orlando.
