One person was seriously injured Friday afternoon when a car crashed into a telephone pole, rolling over in the process, on Thompson Bridge Road in Gainesville.
The victim was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, according to Keith Smith, Gainesville Fire Division Chief.
"A second vehicle tried to go around the accident scene and [got] entangled in the power lines," said Smith in an email update.
At last report, the northbound side of Thompson Bridge Road remained shutdown.
The crash was reported around 2:20 p.m.
Gainesville Police are handling the accident investigation.
