ATHENS — Gainesville native and Georgia standout Spencer Ralston has been chosen as an Honorable Mention All-American by PING and the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Ralston, a sophomore, earlier was tabbed as an Honorable Mention All-American by Golfweek Magazine. The All-America recognition is the first of Ralston’s career. Ralston also was named Second-Team All-Southeastern Conference this season.
Georgia head coach Chris Haack now has produced 61 All-Americans, including at least one for five straight years and for 21 of his 22 seasons.
Ralston earned the 2018 Dick Copas Award with a team-best scoring average of 70.86. He came in a career-best second in the Crooked Stick Invitational and the Linger Longer Invitational and had seven top-10s in 12 tournaments this season. His 7-under 65 round and 12-under 204 total at the Linger Longer Invitational were career bests.
