Landscaped medians have been installed on two busy Gainesville streets, Jesse Jewell Parkway and E.E. Butler Parkway.
A posting on the city's Facebook page says "they improve pedestrian safety and stormwater runoff." They were made possible by a $50,000 Wells Fargo Foundation grant in conjunction with the University of Georgia.
In addition, Gainesville residents Brent and Paula Hoffman contributed plantings for the project, according to the posting.
